How Trenton Tree Service Got Started
Ryan Callahan started Trenton Tree Service in 2017 after more than a decade working for other tree companies around Mercer County. The last straw came when his employer at the time wanted him to top a 60-year-old oak in front of an elderly homeowner — Ryan refused, did a proper crown reduction instead, and went home that night deciding he was done working for people who didn't care about doing things right.
He started small, out of his own truck, with a climbing harness and a reputation built over a decade of work across central New Jersey. Word spread fast. Ewing neighbors told Hamilton neighbors. Hamilton neighbors told Princeton clients. Within three years Trenton Tree Service had a full crew, two chip trucks, and a stump grinder. Today the company handles everything from single-tree trimming to overnight storm emergencies across Mercer County and Bucks County. Ryan still climbs most jobs himself — not because he has to, but because when you love what you do, it shows in the work.

Ryan got into tree work at 18, climbing for a small crew out of Hamilton and picking up certifications along the way. Eighteen years later, he's still climbing — now as the owner of Trenton Tree Service with a full crew working alongside him.
Born and raised in Ewing, Ryan knows every neighborhood between Trenton and Princeton, and most of his customers started as neighbors. What drives him: doing the job right, charging fair, and showing up when he said he would.
